Yeah, I looked at the clip. There's a bad case of large pixelation, so anything you see is basically inconclusive at best. Just look at the right rear cheek corner leading up towards the eye corner, how jagged and broken that line is, and the "marks" you say you see on the cheek disappear and reappear, just like all the other pixelation all over does. I'm not seeing it and it's not because I want to be difficult. There just isn't enough clear information in that video to make out the details you are talking about as being anything but distortion in the picture.

Well if you just look at the photo itself, yes of course there is pixelation but you have to look past that and throw on an overlay of the screen mask. Then it will be clearer.

You cannot just do that with a degraded image like that. It's like seeing rivers on Mars.

I don't know if this has been covered (it aint easy being green, lol) but seeing Vader's vent mesh as an imprint in the above pic reminded me of the air intake grill on a 1970 Volvo P1800 (1800E) - with its slightly rounded underside, rather than a perfect diamond shape.

Talking of Volvos, they're boxy but... well look 8)

Cool find.

I think we can cross it off the list of it being the original. Not even original style mesh.

Oh... Didn't see that one. Must admit the placement of the grills are pretty good.

And a rather cool 70's spotted-swing-wing colar, stylish :D

Nevertheless whether this one is the original or not, it pretty much has the same two-tone paint scheme of the later eFX, sans the whisker under the left cheek being grey on this one - that's about the only difference I can spot.

Ok thanks, I checked it again, this time against two different angles of the original grill and although it is very close it doesn't seem to be really on the mark, but it is surprisingly close.

For the guy to have picked it up like that, and for it to stay that secure in terms of the mask to dome connection, it must have the same kind of connector we see on the ANH tour helmets.

Agreed. I would never have picked up the helmet like that.

Thought I recognised the guy presenting, he is 'Tadao Takashima' from various 1950's/1960's movies and a fair few sci-fi flicks I think. He and one of his sons are in several Godzilla movies and I think 'Death Note 2008' - wonder if the guy has a prop collection? I wouldn't be surprised.

Well, the accurate grill is fairly similar - it's finding it in the right size that's usually the biggest problem. This type of grill is very commonplace.

Could be his props on the table? Anyone know Japanese and understand what he's saying about the helmet when he's lifting it up? Or in other parts of the videos, if any of them are referring to the helmets on the table at all?

Well all they had there were the two Don Post TK helmets, cutouts of R2 and C3PO and then that Vader helmet. I highly doubt that the Vader helmet belonged with the Japanese host. Rather, it was probably brought along by Kurtz as I am sure at the time they may have had a touring Vader with them and then the hosts probably collected other Star Wars items to liven up the set. But yes having anyone look at it in Japanese would be good. Nate (runnriott) I think is from Japan?
