Something I've been wondering about this vader is its origins. Even though the cast is bad does anyone recognize where it may have come from? The smaller size might be from the no. of times it is removed from the original. What I mean is its a cast of a cast of a cast ect.

There is just something familiar looking about it but can't quite put my finger on it. When you think about it nobody just sculpts up a vader for the hell of it just to make really crappy copies of it. And its anh which means to me someone originaly put alot of time and effort into the original. What I mean is the version of the original was specifically chosen probably not by accident.

Any way just wondering...might be interesting to see the original.

Hey nice dome rework. What some heat and patience can do!

Thanks CS....I've done quite a bit more with the dome since last post. One thing I did notice with the heat is you'll have to be very careful of thin spots in the resin. I have a heat gun and it only took a little heat to begin reshaping, this resin is very easy to work with.

I've gone as far as I can with heat now I'm filling and sanding. I'll post some more pics when I get it back in primer :chase

Hi Guys....well here are some pics of the dome so far. I still have some spot filling to do and a bit more sanding but for what I started with I don't think its going to bad. I also included one with the mask even though its far from being done. :pale

I did manage to make the mask wider and have done a bit of reshaping but I'll get into that more once I've comleted the dome. Enjoy and let me know what you think your imput is very welcome. :chase

Ok here are some pics of the mask so far. I've done quite a bit of reshape with the heat gun. Once I got it in primer I found some more flaws to work out but I think its not going to bad.
As always suggestions or comments are very welcome.

Hi Carsten. Hoping in a few weeks to maybe get into painting this thing. Any thoughts as to what type of grey people are using for the two tone? I'm probably going to spray it on...just cant bring myself to brush paint I'd feel like I was painting my bedroom wall. :lol

Well, there is no fixed consensus on what grey paint to use other than it should be gunmetal grey to give it that metallic look, but also keep it dark enough, so that it reads as black, if you know what I mean. Try not to go too silvery, as that simply looks wrong.

Wow! you have really come a long way with this helmet. It is fantastic to see the talent some folks have in transforming atrocities into art work. Can't wait to see the final painted up helmet. Great work.

Thank you for the compliments guys. :toothy
The resin has been real easy to shape with heat to a point. I've gone as far as it will allow me to with it though so any further shaping has to be done with filler. Not sure how much more I'll be able to do with it but will tweak a little more before painting. Hoping to have a couple more projects in a few days.
