I have finished trimming the eyes and mouth vents. I have to do a couple of small fills before I can sand and prime. It's coming along well.

As always, comments and suggestions are encouraged:

Looking good. It looks like a lot of fun, but I'm not disciplined enough to finish a project like that. :rolleyes

Here's another update.

I have now totally finished all the trimming around the eyes, they are ready to go. The chin vents need a little bit of fine filing and sanding but are otherwise good to go. I have filled the air bubble in the tusk with bondo as well as other little dings and dents I found on the face. As I said from the outset, I am being very picky and particular with this helmet and paying attention to the most minute details.

Here are the pics that show the finished eyes with all the spots of bondo.

Comments and suggestions always welcome, whether they be about something I am doing now or need to do in the future with the helmet:

It seems that you have it all in hand. Your making fast work of this. Takes me ages to do something similar.

Update February 24 - 2007

The mask and dome now have their second coat of primer. Great results thus far. I have more pics on my site including pics of all the accessories that will be used on this helmet:
