What i was actually referring to was his claims that his helmets have "touched the inside of a screen used" which we all know is a bit of a lie as he himself admitted they were made from a replica of the original TE mold...
And where was the name calling ????.

You know me... I eat seven chill pills a day and still it isn't enough.

And no... for all people... name calling is saying more about the one doing it than the one it is done against. I would think we were all much better people than that.

Tried to draw the outlines of what I could see onto the helmet. There are some areas where the detail is washed out too much to really make it out - that's why I need the pictures, to get things right. What I was able to outline, actually looks rather cool on the helmet. Really adding character.

pm sent.

I gotta work out some stuff first before I start cleaning up the seamline and eventually getting it painted. Needs some rubber brushes for painting on masking fluid, but I don't have any money and nothing I have for sale sells! :cry

Learned one thing. This is likely not off the RotJ helmet that TE owned. The decal shapes and placement are different than the pictures I've seen of the RotJ original.

The mystery thickens. 'Cause, if it is not from that helmet... what helmet is it from?

It was while tracing the decal details that I realized it couldn't possibly be from that TE owned original. I wanted to see how much of the original detail was still there... and it turns out that it's a lot... though, there are areas that are completely washed out... the rear area of the left tube stripes, for instance, is completely guesswork, as there's nothing there on the surface to go by... basically the three-four last stripes towards the ear.

Sorry for the long wait, but here are some pictures. About the best angles I could match. Not perfect, but at least it shows what I'm talking about. It is very clear that if my cast comes from that helmet, then it doesn't look the same now as it did when the mold for my cast was made. The ears are positioned differently and some of the decals are different.

Please be aware that the angles are not perfect!!!

Okay, apparently picture 2 and 8 was paired with a different original helmet. I apologize for that mix-up. Here are revised versions of those pictures with the right original helmet:

Taking the helmet apart definitely explains the different placement of the ears and partially explained some of the scuffs and tears around the ears, but not so much the tear around the left trap - is that the right word for the decal right above the eyes?

With all this evidence and plausible scenarios, the likelihood that it is in fact from that TE owned original helmet is definitely high. I just had my suspicions due to the decals and placement of ears and some scuffs that weren't on my cast... but again... all that could have happened later.

But... if TE didn't make it... then who did?
