Painting. I drew a rough outline on the helmet with pencil and then carefully painted them.

Man that helmet is looking great. Did you use masking fluid to get the chipped effects?

Did the weathering. Now I only need to add a couple more details and the visor and then it's done. :)

Yep, I think it might actually be some type of brown leather on the original, but I'm not sure.

Fantastic work!

I'd go with some more black for the carbon scoring, and not just rely on the gray. Don't overdo with the black though... just a bit here and there.

I actually purposely used a lighter gray on the right side of the helmet, but i agree, it does need to be darker.
