OK, the shins.

They're obviously L&R but aren't a matching pair. The left one is not a sharp pull but made of black ABS. The right one is a sharper pull in ABS, but has also been painted black which I find odd...

Another odd thing is that the right shin (Vader's right) has a bunch of 1.5mm holes along the edge of the shin, like they were intended to be attached to the pants or maybe using sew on Velcro?

Sorry about the shitty pics, but I thought I'd put them up here as I thought it might be of interest.

Cheers,

Kraig

I'll bet the straps were inadequate so someone drilled holes to lace shoestring through and tie them down better.

Just a bet.

Any word on what is happening to this outfit?

Hi Kraig,

Can you post a full width photo of the chest armour (front and rear).

Btw I’m in Melbourne too. :thumbsup

Hey DJ, that would make sense.

Alan! For some reason I thought that you were up north. I didn't realise that you were in Melb. Man, what a shame that the MP's gone, would've loved for you to see him in person. I sent you a PM a few days ago, but it's sitting in my outbox and it's not in my sent folder, not sure what that means. I was just wondering if you still do tusks?

Anyway, sorry for taking so long to reply. I thought I had better pics than I do, but I've attached basically what I have. Sorry, they're not better...

Thanks for these awesome shots Kraig. Armor Paintjob looks interesting....gun metall is much darker as on other armors. And the shape is also different to the DJ armor. Are the rods on the chestbox aluminium?

LOL!!! Funny, I was just going to post on how shape looks same as DJ armor!!! How funny.

Question - does the left shoulder bell match up exactly to the armor? Looks like it does. That is a good sign.

Those are really good photos!

What vest is standing in? And the cape has an odd hemline, like it has an opposite slope then the screen capes.

From the website: ESTIMATE: $150,000 - $250,000

Anyone else get the feeling this is going WAY over the estimate?

LOL, yeah, if I had to hazard a guess I'd say $350-375,000 at least. It would great if this ended up in a collection that is open to the public but it doesn't seem very likely. Maybe the Academy Museum or Arnaud Grunberg? Since his death I don't know if the Paul Allen/POP museum is adding any artifacts to their collection besides they already have a Darth Vader costume (even if it's a mish-mash of parts).
