Paul,

You're making a lot of sense. Someone can pick up a helmet and go "Hey, it doesn't have XYZ." Perhaps that helmet was indeed used on film, but that film ended up on the cutting room floor. Thus the features we most associate with a certain helmet are still that which we observed having the most screen time.
