Wow great stuff-thanks for sharing.

Any chance at seeing the leather suit? Id like to see the front vest specifically if possible.

Hey everyone, sorry for taking so long, just been a bit busy lately.

DJ! How you doin'? I think that there's a very good chance that he'll be able to be seen when in LA. When I know for sure, I'll confirm it.

I know what you're saying about the droop effect could've caused the pinching of the neck and to be totally honest, I can't rule that out. The lenses are even worse than what you mention. I used to think that was the case with the MP, but as time moved on the gaffa pulled away and I got a chance to have a poke around that area. The lenses are amber and smoke lighting gels gaffa taped together. Not the most high tech method, but it worked...lol.

Anyway, It's going to take some time to do the pics and I'll quote posts to make sure I've covered everyone's requests.

Back soon :thumbsup

I think I'm okay! In the process of moving and dealing with auto insurance and all of that. Feels like a weird non-existence for the time being lol. And it all happened right AFTER Vadermonkey cast up the parts I have here so fortunately that got accomplished.

:)

Looking forward to maybe seeing this thing!

Also, the mounting system looks to be the same as is on the burnt, funeral pyre helmet.

Am I remembering correctly?

Don't you mean the Interlocking Flush Mount X3000? ;)

I guess to burn that other one they just got an old tour suit helmet and set it on fire. Very cool to see that lighting gel in there as the old helmet I saw at ILM had the same thing. However, someone took the time to heat gun it to the back of clear plastic that was slightly thicker and that "bubbled" nicely into the eyes from behind.

Hey Mike, unfortunately the suit is missing the vest and gloves. However, here's some of the pants and arms etc...

Is the Suit Prowse sized Kraig? Any more pics from the boots? They look pretty short....more like Knobelbecher instead of riding boots.

I'm laughing at the hilarious crappy lense system they used back then. Duct tape attached to tint film just to have the clear outer lense appear bronze. Right...... :lol
It's the dreaded high build Primer .... Look at that yellow primer thickness on the cracked nose, must be like 1+ mm thick ! So happy DJ didn't use that particular auto body grade stuff on his helmet. It does have a beautiful set of chops I must say, straightest clean cut teeth 'Ive ever seen on a auth. cast.

Hey Mate,

There's no high fill on the face. The off white stuff is gelcoat. The layers from outside to inside are... paint (gloss, gunmetal, black), gelcoat, resin/glass, gelcoat (not sure why they applied it on the inside), flat/satin black.

I think at some stage the Empire had a good dental plan, but clearly, looking at the Emperor's teeth, oral care isn't high on his priorities, so I assume he canned it at some stage

Hey Man,

I think the suit might be, but I'm certainly no expert. The boots aren't like the originals, I think they could be bike boots?

I suppose being behind the shins, it was more of a comfort thing rather than accuracy.

Speaking of the shins, they're interesting. When I get more time I'll do a post on those.

Cheers,

Kraig

Hey Nick, I've been all through my pics and I can't see the boot size. To be honest I never really bothered looking too closely to them due to not being screen accurate. Sorry man :dope
