Its been a bit quiet around here lately, so I'm gonna share these shots I screen grabbed recently of a few original helmets. I'm sure a lot of you have already seen this but maybe a few of you havent.

First is the carst from the original ROTJ that was used for making the ROTS:

Next is one of the original ROTJ helmets in the archives. I cant remember where I got these from:

and lastly this is the original ESB that was shortly featured in Mark Hamill's Pop Culture Quest show

Awesome shots. Yeah... that RotJ they cast to use as reference for the RotS, it really looks lovely.

Didn't see those RotJ archive shots before. Cool.

And that ESB... very lovely. Can you post the link to the video, please, so it will be easy to find?

Look how shallow those teeth are - very much like the Ghost Host ROTJ. They look incredibly fragile.

Craig- Thats was one of the first things I noticed. there is a lot of really good details in the closeup shot.

Also here is the link to the Pop Culture Quest episode. The Vader helmet is exactly at 9:32

They just filled the mouth walls to cover the grill. They knew they didn't need the correct depth or grill detail so instead of filling from the rear, they just filled from the front. It's very clear what they did.

That's a cool video, Juan. Thanks for sharing. I love that ESB Vader helmet - likely a close relative of the original of the TM. :)

I love how they cleaned up the and sharpened the edge of the lip just below the teeth. very noticeable on the raw cast.

Excellent--thanks for posting these Juan! I love the caps from the Kazanjian interview. Also love how the neck-line on the RotJ helmet matches up quite well with the DP Deluxe.

So definitve no neck extension for RotJ. Agree , not agree?
Telling from the pic's above i would say it's still there.

I haven't seen any indication of there being a neck extension on any RotJ helmet. The only helmets that I have seen that sport the neck extension are a few ESB helmets. If the casts made for RotJ had them (if there were additionals made), then the extensions were trimmed off.

I had these pictures in my hard drive. Totally forgot I had them or even where I got them from. So if these pictures are from anyone here ( and you dont want me sharing them) please let me know , and I'll take them down.

This ROTJ helmet shows no signs of extension and its a great reference for the teeth depth. I know the raw cast I shared up top has filled vents but this one still shows them being rather thin and tapered.

If i recall correct than those are from the Celebration IV.

Never noticed how wide the straps were at this helmet. :cheers
