Hello everyone. Well here is my other project. Now before the st purists start to pic on me keep in mind I am in no way trying to build "the super accurate chair" or offering this as a tut on how one should be built.

I am building this strictly for s**ts and giggles and because some day I'm going to die and I want one before that happens. :toothy

On to the pics. First up are the shots taken after I began to put the pieces together. Enjoy.

What a great start!

Hey, I just found this:

http://www.droidboy.com/kirk/

The guy says he based these off of blueprints taken off of an auctioned prop.

Nice! Add some automotive leather care product and you'll get it to gloss!

Wow, it's coming along nicely!

So... are you going to have it in the living room while you watch TV, or is your wife going to have a word with you?

Well MAC....the word has been given.....I'm not allowed to build the chair. I am therefore building it anyway. :toothy

It will go in the entertainment section of the ship which is being built in the basement. I plan to watch much big screen tv in this baby and bark out orders to the wife....or anyone who will listen to me. That pretty much means just the cats.

Also thank you NHM. The new vinyl has not arrived yet so I guess the sides won't get finished tonight. Oh well maybe this weekend.

Here's a suggestion. Widen it so that it can seat two people. You get your side, she gets hers, and that way you can BOTH sit in the Captain's Chair and justify it being in front of the TV set!

Of course, you have to have cup holders....

Tell her, "Honey, it doubles as a pedicure chair!"

Just don't let her trap you into doing the pedicures though! :ac6

Ive been working on the sides of the chair this weekend so here are some pics of my progress.

The last two photos are the sides to the madison chair. I ran out of vinyl so they await padding and upholstering. I really need to connect the entire madison chair together so as to have a proper width to connect the two large sides together.

The large sides were much harder to build than I thought they would be. To the best of my knowledge there are no real measurments for these pieces. I already know the madison chair is the proper size and also how large the controls on the chair are. So from that point there was alot of scaling to get the size and angles that were needed.

Its been fun but also a real pain in the but. :toothy

Nice...!

Hey, can you do a picture of the sides of the chair in relation to the seat? It would give a sense of scale.
