It's nice to see Vader return to a Star Wars game. The realism of the Endor environment is incredible, and the amount of effort going into the design and 3D modeling shows a level of love and fan dedication. The artists were entreated with access to the Lucasfilm Archives, and the 3D model of the ROTJ stormtroopers looks very good.

Vader appears to be based off of something like a Rubies Fiberglass Limited Edition but yet significantly different. It is as if the dome had been somewhat squashed front-to-back while the face has been pulled out on the sides and back. There seem to be DP like tells in the 3D model, yet some indications that it was mirrored to be symmetrical - but without turning it into ROTS. The mid strip is very sharp indicating ROTJ.

Kudos to the artists to not bring a ROTS Vader design into an Original Trilogy setting!

Looks a bit off for a RotJ Vader, cause they put the helmet under the armour.
Capechain also has the Rots touch.

Given the detail and realism they've put into everything else you'd think they could at least scan a helmet from the Archives?

I'm definitely playing this. The Stormtroopers look great. One behind-the-scenes video discusses that they artists had access to the LFL Archives and, IIRC, some props were laserscanned. I'm surprised that Vader doesn't come across as laserscanned. It is as if they took a Rubie's Fiberglass Limited Edition and did a mirror-flip.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing Mac. If this game lives up to its hype though I may be tempted as well!

I've seen a pic on facebook from the makers of the game and on this pic you can see that they are standing in front of a ROTJ Vader display making pics or what else from it. But i agree, the Vader looks awefull compared to other stuff in the game.

I know I'm probably a dope and haven't looked closely enough, but on what consoles is this game intended to be released on?

This is the first time ever in the fandom that there has been an in-movie experience potentially in our homes, where it looks, lives, feels like the very movie we fell in love with. I've seen a coin-op video game of Hoth before, and that wasn't too bad, but this. Blows. Everything. Fricken. Away. The snow. The explosions. The weapons. The realism.

Sure, they could have dumbed down the game to be cross-platform, but they chose to preserve a highly cinematic quality - the very experience we have been waiting for since Empire Strikes Back first came out in movie theaters in 1980. This is the game I've been waiting for, for 35 years. You can fly a Snow Speeder between the legs of an AT-AT and fire a cable to tie up its legs.

And when the AT-AT comes down, the physics emulate the movie model taking a plunge into the snow very realistically.

The scene of Vader at the end - it's very ROTJ, down to the chest box, but the symmetrical treatment of Vader isn't half bad. It's definitely not ROTS but the proportions aren't bad. Definitely a big upgrade over previous video game Vader appearances. The leather of the suit looked real.

So having said this, watch, weep, cry, salivate.

And it officially sucks to be Carsten. But I'm sure PlayStation 4s and Xbox Ones will eventually drop in price, and the game will be around for a while.

Well, I'm gonna discuss it with my mate whether it's time for me to get one of the new gen consoles and which he would recommend. Since I have the XBOX 360 it may be smartest to get the P4, but it all depends on the game selections and my preferences.

All in all... this is looking fantastic.
