Hi, I was digging thru boxes (my collection) recently and came upon one of my favorite pieces, and thought I'd show it off... :)

That is too cool! Thanks for sharing those! I love the high tech method of joining the 2 halves :lol

I have moulds "supposedly" taken from one of the original helmets, it'll be interesting to see if they compare in shape to your helmet... I'm thinking not :disg

Cheers,

Kraig

That is so cool. I always loved the way these looked on the TV - the way they used to let the light flash off the armour. I was always routing for them to win :lol
The bad guys always look cooler than the good guy.
Any chance of a peek inside (please)?

I love this Steve. :drool

Thanks for sharing this.

This is from my era of BSG. I think they were much cooler in the original series.

:thumbsup

Thanks for the comments. I used to think of building a replica body to display the head on, but I may never get around to that... :( but I was thinking of displaying this in some manner, anyway. Any suggestions?

BTW, I'll snap a shot of the inside and post it later when I'm home.

Hey Kraig,
I am curious about your molds... Years ago I borrowed a stunt helmet from a friend (no electronics) and molded it (did a little idealized cleanup to the seam though) and I offered a few castings. I eventually gave the mold to Sporak (RPF) who I believe made a few castings for people. Is your 'mold' derived from that one, by any chance? Pic?

Loved that helmet when I was a kid! You've lucky to have it.

Yeah, that's cool. The original Cylon's always looked cooler than the new crap.

Is that the original red eye too?

Yes, I feel lucky. I got it for a steal... $250 back in the mid-90's! I love the original BSG and cylons best, too. Almost as much as Vader.

The eye works, and is original. Unfortunately, the power-cord was cut at about 4 feet, but it's not difficult to power it up with a 6v battery.

Wow that's truly a wonderful piece. Congrats on re-discovering it in your collection. Any thoughts about selling it?

Bloody hell! That was a deal! It's held up incredibly well over the years too. It's obviously been well looked after!

Hey mate,

They're buried under other moulds and crap on a shelf somewhere in the shed, I'll dig them out and take a few snaps. They were/are made from plaster (gypsum?) and were left outside for god knows how long and have kind of pitted, I assume it's due to moisture, it's hard to explain, the photos will show what I mean. Be ready to reel back in horror due to their condition, but I thought I'd save them from further degradation, just in case there could be some truth about them being taken from the real deal.

Cheers,

Kraig
