My new acquisition. Just got it about an hour ago. Got notice from Joe today about it having been sent and that he'd give me the tracking info asap... but I guess that's not necessary. Man, have never experienced such a fast delivery. WOW.

Sitting next to one of my SFS helmets.

Enjoy.

Glad it went to a good home Carsten.

Now look after it and don't ever sell it on. That is a piece of history, that will never be recreated. At $85,000 a go no-one will ever recast another. Well not unless they are mental!

Joe

No worries Joe... it'll be taken good care of. I'll very carefully try to remove the seam line across the helmet and then carefully paint and display it. Thanks man! :thumbsup

If anyone has any picture of the TE owned original helmet that was shown off by Propstore of London, I'd love to see them.

Thanks.

Well, I only have the 4 or 5 pictures of the original helmet that was posted in the FISD thread, so anyone having pictures of this helmet and you are free to share, please post them. They would be a great guide to finish up this helmet. :cheers

Oh... I may have labeled it wrong... it may not be made by TE after all. :eek

Isnt the story that it wasnt made by TE himself but by a friend of his using TE's original helmet??

P.S it just occured to me that if this is true then that helmet is closer to "screen used" than the GINA, $1000 helmets..... lmao that would be sooooo funny ! :thumbsup

From what Matt told, yes.

It's not TE who made these replicas and I guess that just a few of them have been made (it's the only one I know)

Well, there are different ways of determining closeness or accurate to screen used. Are you going for the surface details to be preserved - like we fuss and argue about regarding Vader helmets, or do you go with the closest accurate materials, assembly, fitting and detailing?

Depending on what you go for, yes, this helmet is a direct cast off an original with all the detailing of the original intact in the cast. In that sense... it is one of the most accurate pieces as it has all the original's features and assembly as part of the cast. If you go for how the originals were made and the right materials, I still think GINO's helmets are some of the top pieces to aspire to. Personally I don't much like his mannerisms, but he has nice stuff and please, let's not stoop to childish name calling, as that accomplishes nothing.
