$500 is a good price. It's just a pity I'm not into that but nevertheless a good addition to any collection.

I bought these two kits recently

and commissioned someone to paint them for me, as I suck at painting. So seller was cool enough to mail them directly to the painter and he's been working on them since. The baby raptor would be posed like the one in this pictures scratching itself at the side of the head with the sickle claw and painted as the baby seen in JP1:
Image

The bust would be painted in a mix of these two paint jobs, with the more closed mouth like seen in the first picture:

And he just sent pictures of the finished pieces - can't wait to get them home:

Both are 1:1 scale, so the bust will be pretty big.

Welcome to Jurassic Park. I got them home yesterday and WOW... I'm impressed. there are a few warps on the bust and was cast like that, but nothing that really detracts from it and I'm glad I asked for those not to be altered or resculpted. I'm absolutely STUNNED about the size of the bust and how much it weighs. Gonna make a stand for both the bust and baby raptor to stand on together, so it's possible to see the size difference between a newborn and an adult. And to think that it would reach that size from being so small in just about 4-6 years. Unbelievable. The paintwork is so much better in person and I just wish I can make that stand quick enough, so they can be displayed properly. Though small, the baby raptor is incredibly strong built - it's tail had even punctured through the mini box it was in, without breaking, in the big box holding the bust. Man... that was a tough one getting home from the post office.

Anyway, here are a few pictures. In the first one I paired both pieces, both 1:1 scale.

And here's a shot of just the bust. Will take more pictures soon and of the little one... oh man I'm excited.

Bloody hell! They look brilliant!

Mounting the bust as though it's bursting through the wall would look cool, but not very practical, especially if you're renting. I look forward to seeing the stand you've got in mind.

Cheers,

Kraig

That bust is almost uncomfortably real. It's bloody fantastic. I particularly like the fact that whoever put this together didn't have loads of drool dripping out of the mouth. These models look like they could have come out of a natural history documentary.

I'm so jealous.

Well, I wanted them to look natural and not like frothing crappy monsters. Nothing scary about such... but something that looks like a real animal, with all the dangers that comes with such a predatory creature... well... that's scary. With a drooling monster all I can think about having to take a shower from all that drool... yuck. :cheers

Drool, I'm looking for exactly this, who is the maker and does he still make them?
