I'm sure it could be fixed, would be easier to tell with a quick coat of grey primer.

Can you step back ____ feet and rephotograph it? The perspective distortion makes it very hard to comprehend the shape.

Please don't read my post as being facetious. The only straight on shot was taken about 3-4 feet away, where the head is so big it obscures a proper view of the neck. We can't determine how wonky your mask is and if restoration can be affected or not, and need you to stand back 6-8 feet and zoom in, so we can be fair in an assessment.

Is this fiberglass or just plain resin? It looks like the latter (well the neck interior, at least).

Hiya Frosty!

Well I'd say the best thing you can do to help you make your decision is lower the height of the top crown stump - the one on that cast is waaaay way too high and quite distracting.. (makes the whole thing look balls to me, to be perfectly honest! )

BUT scalp that cast, fix the height of the stump so that it doesn't stick up so far and really I think you'll have something worth saving! you've got some hard work ahead of you though by the looks of it if you decide to complete the prop..

The Don Post deluxes weren't the sharpest of Vaders but I'm quite sure a man of your infinite talents could do something with that, and hey you could always go off on a tangent and build an imagined version of a Reveal with your own detailing, that would be cool to see! I'm sure someone on the RPF did their own take on the ROTS Reveal making it up themselves but in the basic style of the real thing, turned out wonderful.

I think i'll get shut and look for another lid, the parts of vader i have for my lifesize are mostly empire anyway so it won't fit in, plus i have so many projects on the go i'll never get chance to finish the bugger

Interesting. It has characteristics of the Don Post Deluxe, the Rubie's Deluxe / Supreme, and the Rubie's Fiberglass Limited Edition.

It has potential, but it would need a lot of work. Repositioning the mounting system (or making a new one) would boost the aesthetics of the mask.

I have moved this topic to the WIP section, where I think it is more appropriate.

As my best friend says "any place is within walking distance if you have the time."

Just really depends on how much effort you want to put into it. Definitely could be turned into something nice, but it will take a lot of work to get it there.
