Last year I had the opportunity to photograph this as it was changing owners. I believe this helmet to be No. 1 of three replica ESB masks made by TE back in April of 2006.

This was my first hands-on experience with a TE helmet. I've observed the more recent 30th Anniversary edition to have sharper details to the ear discs. However, after studying some screen caps, the ear caps of some of the originals weren't sharp in detail either.

There is some yellowing of the plastic beneath the brow, but the helmet white has not been painted. What you're seeing is the actual plastic.

Helmets, sort of. Full suits are being done by someone called TE2 who does both helmets and suits.

Hey Mac, are the decals painted on or stickers?

Are the teeth cut out? Or is there something behind them? Sorry for all the questions.

Finger,

All excellent questions.

The decals are all stickers except for the ears, mouth and chin. The mouth and chin are painted black.

The mouth is cut out. There was no screen behind them at the time of photography. If I recall correctly, there is simply a black cloth wrapped around the mannequin head. The teeth however are cut out.

Thanks Mac. It looks like the mouth as a whole is painted differently from the ANH version. Looks like in between the teeth in the upper and lower areas are black also. The ANH version just has the teeth painted grey. Is that correct?

They did paint the frown differently in ESB and ROTJ. The ANH "teeth" are not connected and the ESB teeth are in some cases. The ROTJ is connected as well.

I never noticed the gloss TE's were so soft before. Is it just this one?
